Lisa earned her BFA in Mixed Media and Design from Arizona State University. Shortly thereafter the Chicago Art Department for Neiman Marcus hired Lisa to create full environment window displays. Her emerging set design and stylist work launched her success in the advertising and fashion world. She thrived on client interaction and budget allocation and developed a visual style that propelled her freelance career.

Harpo Productions hired Lisa as a production designer for the Oprah Winfrey Show. Themes included party and entertaining culminating in Oprah's surprise-on air-birthday party with performances by Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight.
